Capital Institute of Science and Technology Development Strategy(CISTDS) was established in August 2011. CISTDS is sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Beijing Municipal People's Government, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission for the Secretary-General units, and established in partnership with the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Beijing Normal University and Beijing Institute of Science and Technology. It is a new think tank which is based in the capital Beijing and serves the whole country.

CISTDS aims to highlight the functions of the national political center, cultural center, international exchange center, and scientific and technological innovation center of the capital, and to fully utilize and take advantage of the capital's scientific research, talents, industry, finance and other resources.

CISTDS upholds the core values of “seeking for innovation”,and adopts small core and large network organization method, and adheres to the working philosophy of “perseverance with attitude, insight with warmth, exploration with determination.”More than one hundred well-known experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs, form a high-end and efficient research and operation team dedicated to creating a high-end think tank platform integrating academic and policy research, strategy and consulting services.

CISTDS focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship and green development, adheres to internationalization, regionalization, and quantification, conducts key research on forward-looking, critical, and urgent issues in the field, and provides strategy consulting, technical and financial services, and professional training for governments, enterprises and all sectors of society. Currently, CISTDS has published more than 30 brand research results continuously; completed more than 200 special projects commissioned by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China Association for Science and Technology, Ministry of Environmental Protection, Beijing, Shenzhen and other governments; provided more than 100 strategic consulting services for well-known enterprises; established or managed industrial development funds in Jiangxi, Chengdu and other places. CISTDS held training sessions on green industry, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, entrepreneurship incubation and other topics, as well as exchange forums such as China Green Development Forum and CISTDS New Year Forum. In-depth cooperation with UNIDO, OECD, European Union, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Asian Institute of Technology and other international organizations and universities have produced positive and extensive social impact.
